Shadow on the wall
June 18, 2008
The recent attention on the experimental shadow feature came just in time for our furniture development. All our items have static shadows underneath them, to add to the realism. Ivanova made some nice and subtle twists to the shadows, and in fact we rebuilt the items in an external 3D app to test how the shadow needs to be painted.
Even though I am convinced that dynamic shadows via the SL client will not be available to the majority of residents within the next 6 months, we have added a new feature to our furniture. Upon click by the owner, the shadows can be switched on or off. Should dynamic shadows come, a simple click will disable our static shadow.

We hasz shop!
June 16, 2008
I moved my translation office to the Beachwood sim in August last year, and never regretted it since the estate is very lovingly yet professionally run by landlady Kitty Umarov. On the central plaza, there are four large shops, but Kitty never rented the fourth one but made it a point to build a cafe there as a community meeting point. This morning, Kitty informed me that one of the other three shops became available, and after some pro forma haggling I rented it for GREENE concept.
The new shop is smaller than the workshop floor, but not only is it nicer, it also brings along access to the parcel settings, so we can have the place listed in search. Since Ivanova gave GC the afternoon off, I had to move the boxes and furniture over there myself. Sigh.

The showroom is open
June 15, 2008
Sure, when it comes to heavy lifting, it’s me who makes things happen. She-boss simply tossed me the finished products, and He-boss preferred the white-collar “work” of listing them on the web. And both “graciously” left the showroom floor to me. And here am I, trying to put the 12 San Jose’s up for display. Didn’t work out of course. So I had to build boxes, push the furniture around, pack and pile boxes, paint them, label them, arrange them. Sheesh, I’m sweaty all over… AND they made me work on a Sunday!
However I think I arranged the San Jose’s nicely, and I put the two I like most on display. Now it’s up to She-boss to finish the vendors. And guess who they will call when it’s heavy lifting time again? Yeah, me…
Well, I’m off for the shower. Check out the showroom and if you are so inclined – buy one (or two or three) of our furniture.
Cheers, GC
San Jose colors and patterns
June 14, 2008
As our San Jose informal meeting couch/sofa is released and available for purchase, I wanted to make a post with a picture of all the different colors here.
These are all twelve designs we have available. There are a variety of colors. Hopefully, we have enough to please most people. They were a joy to make.
